Tetherless keeps a record of unwanted texts and calls for you. Here is what we collect and what we do with it.
Tetherless and Tetherless.com are owned and operated by Snowrock, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. On this page, “we” and “us” mean Snowrock, LLC.
What we collect
- Account details: your email, name, plan and home state.
- Sign-in details: your password in a scrambled form, not the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we keep your Google account ID.
- Billing details: your plan and your customer ID at Stripe, our payment company. Stripe handles your card, and we never see the full number.
- Security details: your IP address (a number that points to your internet connection) and your browser type.
- The date you joined the Do Not Call list, if you add it.
- Your records: messages, screenshots, phone bill records, STOP replies, notes, your chat with Tetherless, your list of companies you said yes to, and a list of what a connected AI helper did.
How we use it
We use your records to check your messages, find out who sent them and write your drafts.
We don’t sell your data or use it for ads.
We don’t share your records with lawyers or anyone else for referrals, unless you say yes for that record.
What leaves Tetherless
- No document or record goes to a company, a court or a government agency unless you say yes to that exact document.
- We only open links from your messages if you ask us to. We open them on our computers, not your phone. The website behind the link can see that visit. A link may carry a code tied to your message, and that can show a scammer your number is real.
- Our own software reads the words in your screenshots. We don’t send them to another company to read.
- To help find out who sent a message, we send website names to public databases that show who registered them.
- Other companies help us run Tetherless. Cloudflare carries the site’s traffic. Stripe handles payments. Google handles Google sign-in. An email provider delivers account email. Each one gets only what it needs for that job.
- If you use our developer tools to send updates to another program, updates about your records go to the address you choose.
- If you connect an AI helper, it can read and add to your records through that connection. The privacy policy of the company behind it covers what it does next.
- We may hand over records when the law requires it, such as under a valid court order.
- If Snowrock, LLC is sold or merged, your records may move to the new owner. This policy keeps applying to them unless you agree otherwise.
How we lock your proof
We lock each proof file when it arrives. Each lock is linked to the one before it, so any later change would show.
What you control
- Download everything as a file from Your data in your account, or through our developer tools (the API).
- Delete your account there too. This removes your messages, proof files and records, and cancels any plan you pay for. We keep two things for up to a year, so the free limit can’t be reset: a scrambled code made from your email, and your free-message count. Deleted data can stay in backups for up to 14 days. Stripe keeps the billing records it’s required to keep.
- Turn on an extra sign-in code, and sign out other devices, from your account.
Changes
